PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quinone derivative having superior electron acceptability, good compatibility with a bonding resin and superior matchability with an electric charge generating agent and to provide a high sensitivity electrophotographic photoreceptor containing the quinone derivative in a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by disposing a photosensitive layer on a supporting substrate and the photosensitive layer contains a quinone derivative of formula (1) or (2).
