PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellulose acylate film excellent in adhesiveness to the upper layer of the film without using a chlorine-based organic solvent such as methylene cloride. SOLUTION: Cellulose acylate is dissolved in a substantially non-chlorine- based solvent and formed into cellulose acylate film where at least one surface of the film has >=65 dyne/cm surface energy and <=30 deg. contact angle with water.
