PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can lid which has safety edge and is excellent in openability and stackability. SOLUTION: A stay-on-tab can lid 11 includes a score line 18 formed on an external surface of a panel 14 surrounded by a circular rim 13, an opening piece 20 sectioned by the score line 18 so that a joint 19 remains and a tab 24 provided approximately at the center of the panel 14 and outside the opening piece 20. An overlap 15 is provided around the panel 14 to cover a part of an external surface of the opening piece 20 in a longitudinal direction of the tab 24. In addition, the opening piece 20 has an opening width in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal opening of the tab 24 larger than a width of the longitudinal opening. Further, a machined region 23 which reduces a thickness of the left score is formed on a part of an internal surface of the score line 18 covered with the overlap 15.
