A battery 38 is contained in a vehicle slide door 33 for the purpose of operating equipment such as a lock, a light and a window. When the door is closed, the battery can be charged by the main vehicle battery. This is achieved by induction between a primary coil on the vehicle body and a secondary coil in the door. The demand on the main vehicle battery is reduced by only switching to a full charge current when the door battery's charge level is sufficiently low and when door equipment electrical demand loads are off. When the door battery's charge amount exceeds a predetermined level, it is trickle charged. |
