PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous polyurethane emulsion capable of satisfying all the performances of flexibility and light, hydrolytic and heat resistances in spite of the aqueous polyurethane emulsion using a polyester diol and a synthetic leather using the aqueous polyurethane emulsion. SOLUTION: This aqueous polyurethane emulsion is composed of (A) a polyester diol comprising at least one kind of diol selected from the group of 2-n- butyl-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol, 2,2-diethyl-1,3-propanediol and 2,4-diethyl-1,5- pentanediol,ε-caprolactone and adipic acid as at least constituent component units, (B) a chain extender, (C) a compound containing carboxy group and an active hydrogen group, (D) an organic polyisocyanate and (E) a neutralizing agent.
