PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transparent gel-like detergent composition being stable even in low-temperature or high-temperature preservation, having a hardness for ready use, excellent foamability and sense of use and slight irritation. SOLUTION: This transparent gel-like detergent composition is characterized in that the composition comprises (component A) 0.1-20 wt.% of a polyoxypropylene monoisopropanolamide type surfactant represented by general formula (1) [R1 is a 5-19C straight-chain or branched alkyl group or alkenyl group; X is an oxypropylene group; n is an average number of addition mols and is 0.5-10], (component B) 25-70 wt.% of at least one kind of fatty acid salt selected from a fatty acid alkali metal salt, an ammonium salt, an alkanolamine salt and a basic amino acid salt and (component C) 30-75 wt.% of water as essential components.
