PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an error in checking the connecting condition of refrigerant piping or connection cables in a multi-room type air conditioner even in any condition with a changed indoor load and reduce the temperature taken for this check. SOLUTION: The air conditioner comprises a plurality of refrigerant circuits composed of openable motor-driven expansion valves 4A, 4B, 4C and indoor heat exchangers 5A, 5B, 5C. The expansion valves 4A, 4B, 4C are opened in their respective refrigerant circuits and the temperature of the heat exchanger 5A corresponding to the expansion valve 4A and room temperature are detected to check the connecting condition of refrigerant pipings or connection cables, based on the detected two temperatures. |
