PURPOSE: A backup and recovery method of a hard disk is provided to recover the data of the hard disk to a state of a previous final protection mode in case of occurring the damage of a program if a user establishes the final protection mode of the hard disk. CONSTITUTION: The method for the backup and recovery of the hard disk comprises steps of booting a computer system by checking a memory and hardware of the computer(s1), establishing a booting drive to a floppy disk drive on a CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) setup screen(s2), inserting and operating a floppy disk having a backup and recovery utility for the hard disk(s3), inputting a password(s4), installing the backup and recovery utility to the computer(s5), extracting the partition data, the system data, the FAT(File Allocation Table) data, the registry data, the start cluster of the files, the file name and the start address of a cluster(s6), storing the extracted data in the bottom of the hard disk in a cluster mode(s7), and rebooting the computer system.
