PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the stroke length of a slide changeable by using a bell crank and to enable a higher speed operation. SOLUTION: The press machine includes a crank shaft 16 which is rotatably born at a frame 14 and a power transmission device 30 which transmits the rotating motion of the crank shaft to the slide 20. The power transmission device includes the bell crank 70 which is born at the frame oscilatably movable around the axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the crank shaft, a connecting member 72 which connects the bell crank and the slide so as to vertically move the slide by accompanying the oscillation motion of the bell crank, a connecting mechanism which is connected to the crank shaft, the bell crank and the slider so as to oscillate the bell crank by accompanying the rotation of the crank shaft and a position regulating mechanism 40 which regulates the position of the slider in a vertical direction.
