PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape memory alloy structure of which the buckling limit is efficiently increased by functioning the bend-restoring capacity by a simple reinforcement if the bend-restoring capacity cannot be functioned singly by a shaft member since the ratio of the length in the axial direction to the sectional area of the shaft member formed of shape memory alloy is large. SOLUTION: In the shape memory alloy structure having the shaft member 1 formed of shape memory alloy having the bend-restoring capacity against the compressive load, an outer circumferential member 2 formed of stainless steel which is closely attached to the outer circumferential surface of the shaft member to complement the insufficient rigidity is provided in an insufficient rigidity area with the bend-restoring capacity partially insufficient when the length of the shaft member in the axial direction exceeds the upper limit value at which the bend-restoring capacity can be obtained singly by the shaft member. Buckling of the shaft member caused by the insufficient rigidity area of the shaft member is suppressed to function the bend-restoring capacity, and the buckling limit of the shaft member can be considerably improved thereby.
