PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weeder capable of surely pulling out even a firmly-rooted weed, by making force of a weeding operator act as force for gripping the weed, without making mechanical force act as the force therefor. SOLUTION: This weeder is equipped with a long cylindrical operation shaft 1 of which the top end has a handgrip 1b so that the weeding operator can operate the shaft by gripping the handgrip while he is in a standing position, and further with first and second gripping claws 2, 3 which are operated to grip the weed at the bottom end of the operation shaft 1, wherein the second gripping claw 3 is arranged so that it faces to the first gripping claw 2 and can reciprocally move to approach and leave the first gripping claw 2 by actions of an operation rod 5, a trigger 6, and a drawing thread 7, and simultaneously a spring 9 for downward pulling and supporting the drawing thread 7 is attached to the bottom end of the operation shaft 1 so that the second gripping claw 3 can be springily operated.
