<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform water cooling by surely jetting cooling water from the tip of a material to be rolled which is hot-rolled. SOLUTION: When a plurality of materials to be rolled which are necessary to water-cool are intermittently rolled with a hot-rolling line provided with a hot rolling mill and a cooling zone which is arranged on the outlet side of the mill and where cooling water is jetted, after the tail end of a preceding material to be rolled is passed through the water-cooling zone while the cooling water is jetted, the cooling water is brought to a jet stopping state and, by stopping the cooling water after jetting the cooling water for a prescribed time before the tip of the next material to be rolled reaches the water-cooling zone, the material to be rolled is surely water-cooled from the tip without delayed response and cooled over the entire length within proper temperature range ((B) application example).</p> |
