PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a belt-shaped member which can improve the lamination precision of the member and productivity by curtailing a drum winding time for one tire in a small scale production method and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the apparatus 1, a cutting device 3 such as a cutter for cutting the belt-shaped member W in a specified width H is fitted to a conveyer 2, a free roller conveyer 5 having guide rollers 4 at both ends which are oriented perpendicularly to the conveyance direction X of an oblong card member Wa is installed on the takeout end side of the conveyer 2, and on the free roller conveyer 5, a tray 6 which is mounted movably in the direction Y perpendicular to the conveyance direction X of the member Wa and can move in parallel to the cutting blade 3a of cutting device 3 is installed. In the neighborhood of the cutting device 3, a suction/transfer means 7 having a suction tool such as a vacuum pat for transferring the member Wa cut the cutting device 3 on the tray 6 is installed.
