PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform sheath rolling using a release agent with which strippability which is obtained when using conventional ceramic powder as a release agent is not only secured, but the smoothness of the surface of a rolled product is raised and which is easily removed, in the sheath rolling consisting of applying the release agent on both surfaces of a material to be rolled which is an object of hot rolling, welding it after covering both surfaces and both sides with a dummy material, performing rolling after assembling the sheath and, after that, taking out the rolled product by disassembling the sheath. SOLUTION: A stratiform or fine pulverulent solid lubricant, concretely a dispersed liquid of lubricant which is made by dispersing the powder of mica or talc or fine powder of boron nitride in a liquid medium such as water or alcohol is used as the release agent and the sheath is assembled. Such a rolling method is advantageously applied to even the case that the sheath rolling and clad rolling are performed at the same time. |
