PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preheating device which easily deals with the case when a preform is comparatively thicker or a molding cycle is shortened by efficiently preheating the preform without the necessity to enlarge a space for installing a blow molding device and does not adversely affect the quality of a finished product. SOLUTION: This preheating device comprises an inclined conveyance rail 16 which conveys the pendent preform 12 and introduces it into the blow molding device 14 which blow molds the preform 12 by heating it at an appropriate temperature for blow molding, a reflector 32 which covers a part below the neck part 28 of the preform 12 halfway through the inclined conveyance rail 16, a heater 34 which heats the preform 12 by reflecting light to it by the reflector 32 and a fan 36 which stirs heat originating from the heater 34 and supplies it to the preform 12.
