PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating by which the substrate can be directly coated, a beautiful coating appearance can be attained, and a coated article excellent in film performances such as adhesion to various substrates, chemical resistance, scratch resistance, weather resistance, and noncorrosiveness to metal can be obtained. SOLUTION: This process comprises directly coating a metallic substrate containing at least one type of metallic atoms selected from among aluminum, magnesium, and chromium with a coating material containing (A) an acrylic resin containing (a) a hydroxy-containing unsaturated monomer and (b) an epoxy-containing unsaturated monomer as comonomers and having a number- average molecular weight of 2,000-80,000 and (B) a curing agent and baking the wet film at 50-180 deg.C. |
