PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystalline resin pellet improving a discharge stability. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystalline resin pellet comprises the steps of distributing an excess cooling water of an amount of 1.1 to 10 times as large as a cooling water amount at a normal time of pelletizing onto a trough 7 in response to a signal obtained by sensing a distribution fault of a strand group 3 generated on the trough 7 up to an arrival at a cutter by a sensor 11 when the group 3 of the liquid crystalline resin from a reaction container 1 is discharged onto the trough 7.
