PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip conveying apparatus with which a failure concerning the strip conveying apparatus for conveying a strip delivered from the outlet side of a rolling mill at high speed is eliminated, wherein the failure is that flying is generated on the strip which is conveyed at high speed and the strip is deviated from a conveying line and it is hard to smoothely form as strip coil. SOLUTION: On this strip conveying apparatus, a plurality of lines of wire ropes of a means for stabilizing the travel of a strip consisting of driving pulleys and driven pulleys which are arranged above a runout table for conveying the strip and wire ropes which are set around those pulleys are arranged in the width direction of the strip and the plurality of lines of the wire ropes are provided with overlapping parts in the conveying direction. In this way, even when the flying is generated, the strip is pushed back with the wire ropes which are arranged above the conveyed strip, smoothly conveyed to the downstream side, put between pinch rollers and formed into the strip coil at high speed. Furthermore, because the overlapping parts are provided, even when the tip part of the strip collides against a part where the gradient of the wire rope is sharp, the tip part is pushed with the plurality of lines of the continuously arranged wire ropes and collosion is easily relieved.
