PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator with a needle cleaning function, which can clean a plurality of needles in a lump by a simple structure, and does not have the risk of bending the needle. SOLUTION: This coater has a coating head equipped with a plurality of needles 8 discharging an adhesive, and a cleaning mechanism part removing the adhesive which have adhered to the outer circumference of each needle 6. This cleaning mechanism part is provided with a pair of elastic bodies 13 which are arranged on both sides of the needle 8 so as to sandwich it, cleaning cloth 9 placed between each of the elastic bodies 13 and the needle 8, a first moving means 14 for contacting each of the elastic bodies to the needle 8 and separating it from the needle, and a second moving means 6 for moving the needle 8 vertically with respect to the moving direction of each of the elastic bodies 13. The cleaning cloth 9 is shaped like a roll, and supply means 11, 17 are mounted for supplying the roll-shaped between a pair of the elastic bodies 13.
