PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a belt and pulleys as a power transmission means in a fishing reel, thereby preventing unpleasant vibrations and noises on practical fishing operations. SOLUTION: A spool motor is received in a motor-receiving case 4 disposed at a front and lower position between both the side frames 1a, 1b, and a toothed pulley 21 is fit onto and fixed to the other end of a rotation shaft 16 by a press-fit method, or the like. A toothed pulley 26 is also fit onto and fixed to a spool shaft 7, and the slip-off of the toothed pulley 26 is prevented with an E-ring 27. A toothed belt 29 is tensely disposed over both the toothed pulley 26 and the toothed pulley 21.
