PURPOSE:To obtain a plate-shape molded object capable of being utilized as a crosstie or other civil engineering/building member facilitating the biting of ballast while holding necessary rigidity as a whole and capable of preventing the lateral shift of a ballast track. CONSTITUTION:A plate-shape molded object 1 is formed from a first layer 2 composed of a thermosetting resin foam with density of 0.6-1.0g/cm<3> having long fibers embedded therein in its longitudinal direction and a second layer 3 composed of the same material as the first layer 2 and having density of 0.4-0.7g/cm<3> lower than that of the first layer. Fiber bundles wherein a large number of long fibers are arranged in a bundled form are advanced on impregnation tables arranged up and down at a predetermined interval and a foamable and curable resin soln. is bonded to the fiber bundles on the impregnation tables during advance to be infiltrated in the fiber bundles to be foamed and cured. |
