PURPOSE:To prevent a toner heap formed on an intermediate transfer belt from entering an image area, to minimize a time-lag till the start of writing by a simpler device and to shorten the time required for printing. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic copying device provided with an endless intermediate transfer belt 10 transferring and carrying a toner image on a photosensitive body 1 and a cleaning device eliminating toner left on the belt 10 after the toner image is transferred on a transfer medium from the belt 10; the plural pieces of positional information are provided in the circumferential direction of the belt 10 and a gap between the respective positional information 41A-41F and the adjacent positional information thereto in the circumferential direction is set to be shorter than the length of the circumferential direction of a non-image part formed on the belt 10. |
