PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data transfer controller and electronic equipment, with which data exchanged on a high speed bus can be processed in a circuit to be operated at a low frequency. SOLUTION: The data transfer controller is provided with a converting circuit 102 for converting the data of K bits width transferred through a bus in a frequency FC1 (HS mode of USB 2.0) after relocating these data to the data of L (L>K) bits width and a processing circuit 104 for receiving the data of L bits width from the converting circuit102 and performing prescribed processing, which is to be performed in the unit of K bits, in the unit of L bits in a frequency FC2 lower than FC1. Thus, prescribed processing to be performed in the unit of K bits can be performed in the low frequency FC2. A transmitting side can be similarly configured as well. Transfer data in the HS mode of USB 2.0 are processed in the unit of L bits and transfer data in an FS mode are processed in the unit of K bit on the other hand. This device can be applied to processing to data transferred on the bus of IEEE1394 and SCSI as well. |
