PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly precise correction to an electric signal outputted from an image pickup area in an image pickup unit. SOLUTION: This image pickup unit is provided with an image pickup device (15) having a plurality of divided image pickup areas which are respectively provided with pixels for generating electric signals corresponding to incident light quantity and a plurality of output parts for outputting the electric signals for the respective image pickup areas, a shutter device (14) for opening and shielding optical paths to the image pickup areas, and correcting means (110-113 and 116) for correcting inter-electric signal level differences obtained from the plurality of image pickup areas in a state that the optical paths are opened by the shutter means based on the electric signals outputted from the plurality of image pickup areas in a state that the optical paths are shielded by the shutter device.
