PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively enable a color display of high quality with good white and black level color reproducibility in the electrooptical device which compensates coloration in a STN mode by an optically anisotropic body by forming a tricolored color reflection plate which principally transmits light of R, G and B on a substrate and controlling the position of the maximum reflectance wavelength of the color reflection plate and spectral reflectance ratio of respective colors at the maximum reflectance wavelength. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is characterized in that a liquid crystal is interposed between two substrates and a metallic reflection layer and transparent electrode layers are disposed so as to be superposed on each other between the substrates, that an insulation layer is provided between the metal reflection layer and the transparent electrode layers and the transparent electrode layers are formed in plural stripe-shapes and that the reflection layer is low reflective between the transparent electrode layers and a low reflective part is insulated from others. |
