PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive member for an electrophotographic device having the member surface which decreases changes in the current with time during the applying of a voltage on the member and which has a stable surface potential of the member and excellent release property for a toner. SOLUTION: The elastic member layer of the conductive member contains conductive fine particles, at least one kind of compound expressed by formula (1): R1-O2C-(CH2)4-CO2-R2 or formula (2) as a conductivity imparting substance, and a monovalent metal salt. A surface layer consisting of at least two layers including a resistance controlling layer and an outermost layer is formed on the elastic member layer. The outermost layer does not contain conductive fine particles and the volume specific resistance of the outermost layer is controlled to be higher than the volume specific resistance of the resistance controlling layer. The outermost layer is formed from a polymer containing a fluorocarbon resin. In formulae (1) and (2), each of R1 to R4 is a substituted alkyl group expressed by formula (3): -(CH2)l-O-(CH2)m-O-(CH2)n-CH3, wherein l and m are integers 1 to 4, n is an integer 1 to 3, and R1 to R4 may be same or different. |
