PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device elongating the serviceable life of a fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: A ballast choke coil is added to a half bridge type inverter formed by combining an n-channel MOSFET(metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor) and a p-channel MOSFET and a resonance capacitor is added to a ballast capacitor so that a series resonance circuit is formed. The fluorescent lamp, a preheat capacitor, and a positive temperature coefficient thermistor are connected in parallel to the resonance capacitor.
