PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an image forming apparatus having an automatic preheat mode and an automatic shut-off mode does not correspond to a using style, that is, fixation is set in an on-state in the midst of standby even when the apparatus is not used so frequently or fixation is set in an off- state even when the apparatus is used frequently. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus restraining the power consumption when the apparatus is not used so frequently and shortening the waiting time when the apparatus is used frequently by calculating the prediction of frequency in use from the number of persons passing through the vicinity of the image forming apparatus, the voice of persons and the brightness of illumination or the like, and switching the standby temperature of the fixing means based on the calculated result is provided. |
