TESTING METHOD OF BRANCHED OPTICAL LINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure characteristics of a branched optical line with a higher accuracy using a wavelength varying OTDR. SOLUTION: In the testing method for inspecting subscribers' side optical lines branched in N on the side of subscribers with a star coupler using a wavelength varying pulse light source installed on the side of a station, reflection filters with different reflection wavelengths are inserted into respective far ends of the subscribers' side optical lines branched in N with the star coupler to make pulse test lights from the wavelength varying OTDR reflect with the reflection filters and backscattered lights produced by the pulse test lights reflected are reflected with the reflection filters again to test the branched optical lines by detecting the backscattered lights.
