PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express a relationship between each instance and a service when an initiator has instances. SOLUTION: The initiator is provided with logical devices A, B and C. In this case, instance directories A, B and C are generated in a directory structure in a configuration ROM indicating a unit configuration, initiator unit directories 1-3 are created at subordinate directories of the directories A, B and C. A feature directory denoting a function provided by each logic device is created at a subordinate directory of the subordinate directories of the directories A, B and C. Through the configuration above, the function able to be provided by the initiator is represented and the initiator can inform other nodes such as a target device about the available function.
