PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and stably performing the access control of an optical pickup at low cost by suppressing the failure of a focus jump in a reproducing device for an optical disk having a plurality of recording layers. SOLUTION: In the access control of the optical pickup including moving between recording layers, first, it is judged whether the focus jump on a present address can be carried out or not and when it can not be carried out, the focus jump is carried out after moving a light spot to a closest position capable of focus jump on the present layer so that the failure of the focus jump can be avoided. Afterwards, the light spot is moved to a target data address on a target layer.
