METHOD FOR DETECTING CROSSING PEDESTRIAN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a crossing pedestrian by which a moving pedestrian can speedily and accurately be detected highly reliably in detection efficiency even in bad weather such as raining, fog. SOLUTION: The method for detecting a crossing pedestrian, which has a laser sensor head and a signal processor, has an initial detection mode and a continuous detection mode. The initial detection mode is for scanning the whole measuring area with the laser sensor head plural times, detecting the pedestrian as a traveling object every scanning and transmitting detection data obtained by adding detection results after all of the scanning and an ID number given to the detected pedestrian to a host system. The continuous detection mode is for detecting the pedestrian from the measuring result of one scanning time, giving a new ID number with what is obtained by adding the measuring result and the final detection data of the initial detection mode as a detecting result and transmitting it.
