PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce overexposure at the time of strobe light photographing at a short distance. SOLUTION: By operating a mode operation member 9, a mode is switched to a normal photographing mode and a short distance photographing mode more suitable for short distance photographing than the normal photographing mode. When the short distance photographing mode is selected, a mode switch 27 is turned on, a zener diode 51 is connected to a main capacitor 33, and the charge voltage of the capacitor 33 is restricted to short distance charge voltage lower than normal charge voltage corresponding to the normal photographing mode by the diode 51. By performing strobe light emission at the short distance charge voltage lower than that in the normal photographing mode, strobe light quantity is made small.
