<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method that sets a required band for each of IP data so as to set the band suitable for actual usage thereby permitting economical network operations. SOLUTION: In an ATM transmission network system adopting the ATM- PON(Passive Optical Network) system, a network side device 1 is provided with an incoming band control section 112 that dynamically controls the assignment of an incoming transmission band from a subscriber side device 3b to the network side device on the basis of information of a control cell for a band request sent from the subscriber side device 3b, assigns the band to transmission of data only when the subscriber device 3b actually uses the band so as to minimize the setting of fixed bands depending on the application made in advance, and distributes bands to other subscribers when the device 3b is not in operation so as to realize the economical and efficient transmission network adopting the ATM-PON system.</p> |
