<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat metal billets of different shapes and dimensions in favorable states by a simple and low-cost constitution. SOLUTION: This induction heater is provided with a long coil 26 storing the metal billet 12 and having the length longer than the axial length of the metal billet 12 and a capacitor 30 to be connected to the coil 26. The coil 26 is connected to a tap position selected according to the axial length and/or the diameter of the metal billet 12, for example, taps 46a and 46b are connected to taps 60a and 60b of the capacitor 30.</p> |
