PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting device for luminaire attached directly to a ceiling applicable to a device for moving a pair of release projecting pieces in the direction in which they leave from each other and sinking a locking member into an adapter main body and capable of performing the engagement of the locking member and a lock member inside the adapter main body. SOLUTION: The adapter main body 4 mountable on the ceiling is provided with a pair of locking members 9 engaging detachably with luminaire main body so as to come in and out freely by energizing them in the direction of protrusion and a locking member 23 movable between a lock position where it is engaged with the locking member 9 to regulate its sinking and a lock release position where it leaves and is disengaged from the locking member 9 to sink the locking member 9 into the adapter main body 4 by moving a pair of release projecting pieces 19 in the direction in which they leave from each other and form opposing faces opposing inside the adapter main body 4 in the locking member 9 on one side and the locking member 9 on the other side so that the locking member 23 can advance and retract between these opposing faces.
