PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat fluorescent lamp or the like having a lead wire with improved insulation property. SOLUTION: The flat fluorescent lamp comprises a transparent sealed container 17 formed by including a tabular glass 15 and a shallow body made of fire-resistant material which has recesses 63a, 63b formed at the part joining with the tabular glass 15; electrodes 18, 19 arranged inside the translucent sealed container 17; lead wires 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b, arranged at the recess of the translucent sealed container 17; and frit glass 64 filled in the recess in order to insulate the lead wires exposed at the side part of the translucent sealed container 17.
