摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device capable of increasing a blooming margin. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup device comprises pixels arrayed in a line, and charge coupled devices for transferring charges corresponding to arrayed pixels. A line sensor 20 comprising the solid-state image pickup device comprises an overflow drain 21, an optical sensor 23 in which a charge corresponding to the incident light is accumulated, an overflow control gate 22 which controls the dispersion amount of an excessive charge to the overflow drain 21, a reading gate 24 which supplies the accumulated charge in the optical sensor 23 to the charge coupled device, a first light-shielding layer 26 which covers the surface of overflow drain 21 and that of overflow control gate 22, and a second light-shielding layer 27 which covers the surface of reading gate 24 and a part of the surface of optical sensor 23. An opening 29 between the first light-shielding layer 26 and the second light-shielding layer 27 is formed near the overflow control gate 22.
