PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the response of a mover in a cylindrical linear motor. SOLUTION: A cylindrical stator 13 is formed with a plurality of sets bundled in series, each set consisting of a coil 16 and a pair of iron cores 15 sandwiching the coil 16 and permanent magnets disposed on both ends of the sets. On the outer periphery of the iron mover 13 being a magnetic substance, there is provided a plurality of integrally formed pole teeth 131 of flange shape. The plurality of pole teeth 131 are disposed in the axial direction of the mover 13. At the axial central section of the rod-shaped mover 13, a hollow section 132 axially extending is formed. The hollow section 132 is circular in section, and its diameter (d) is the same at an arbitrary position.
