PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the hit ratio of a cache device by preferentially storing a particular line in a cache in accordance with character of a program and dynamically changing the priority. SOLUTION: Lines accessed by a processor 1-1 are divided into several groups and definitions of the groups are set in a group definition table 360. How lines of each group are registered in a cache 35 are set in a registration policy definition table 360. This cache device 2 registers the lines in accordance with the set group definitions and registration policy.
