PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase thrust and braking force of a mover by reducing the leakage of flux passing through a clearance between the pole teeth of an armature and generate thrust larger or smaller than that at the time of ordinary straight movement in a particular section. SOLUTION: This linear motor consists of the armature and the mover having magnetism. The armature includes a first polarity pole having at least a first facing section and a second polarity pole having a second facing section. The mover is clamped at the second facing section, so that the magnetism of the mover is distributed differently, depending upon the position of a movable direction.
