PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible user interface control device and control method allowing to perform various controls or processing under an environment such as home network or the like by use of a simple remote control having a minimum possible key number, and adaptable to a new apparatus or remote controller. SOLUTION: When an unknown apparatus is detected within a system including a television picture tube TV1, the remote control information for the unknown apparatus is downloaded from a host computer 20-20 out of the system, the assignment of keys of a remote controller 2-11 is performed on the basis of the remote control information, and a remote control guide is displayed. |
