PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus for mounting an electronic component simple to be calibrated. SOLUTION: The apparatus for mounting the electronic component comprises a calibration reference mark 72a mounted on a head 12 moving a chip 10 in a direction of a board 2 and capable of being imaged by a board camera 34, an image processor 52 for obtaining a position of a first reference mark and a first position of the mark 72a of a first coordinate system of a chip camera 32 based on visual information by the camera 32 and obtaining a position of a second reference mark and a second position of a cross mark 72a of a second coordinate system of the camera 34 on visual information by the camera 34, and an arithmetic unit 56 for obtaining a calibration amount for bringing the first mark into coincidence with the second mark based on the positions of the first and second marks and the first and second positions of the mark 72a.
