PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce mechanical strength of a plastic pipe capable of being manufactured and transported in several hundred meter unit to use it as a gas pipe in middle and high pressure regions and to improve the workability of piping work. SOLUTION: A cushion layer 2 is formed by winding a rubber coated fabric tape on an inner pipe 1 made of polyethylene, and a metallic tape is wound on it further to provide a metallic tape layer 3 and increase mechanical strength while holding the flexibility of the inner pipe 1 in order to withstand an internal pressure in middle and high pressure regions even if the pressure is applied thereon. A rubber coated fabric tape is wound around the metallic tape layer 3 to provide a pressing tape layer 4, and polyethylene is extruded on it and covers it to provide a protective layer 5 to protect the inside metallic tape layer 3 from mechanical damage and corrosion. Gas permeability of the protective layer 5 is set higher than that of the inner pipe 1 to prevent gas permeating the inner pipe from being collected between the metallic tape layer 3 and it.
