摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a sample solution can be prepared by easily decomposing a solid sample in a solution in a short time and separating ruthenium from the solution at the time of quantitatively determining impurities contained in the ruthenium and a ruthenium oxide and another method by which the impurities can be determined quantitatively with high accuracy by using the sample solution. SOLUTION: The solid sample is decomposed by heating in an aqueous solution of a quaternary ammonium hydroxide, such as the tetramethylammonium hydroxide, etc., by adding a chlorine gas and/or a hypochlorous acid solution to the solution and the sample solution containing the impurities is obtained by volatizing ruthenium by adding the chlorine gas and/or hypochlorous acid solution to the obtained solution and heating the solution. The heating temperature is, preferably, 100-200 deg.C and the hypochlorous acid solution is prepared, preferably, by blowing the chlorine gas into the hypochlorous acid solution or the aqueous solution of the quaternary ammonium hydroxide.
