The compressor for the cabin air conditioning system in a vehicle comprises a casing (4) enclosing the gas compression system (10) acting on the refrigerant gas. The system (10) admits gas at low pressure and returns it at high pressure to the envelope (4), and is driven by an electric motor. A separating wall (26) defines the refrigerant gas admission chamber (28) within the envelope. A tube (30) is provided inside the admission chamber. It has an inlet orifice (32) in the upper part of this admission chamber, and an outlet orifice (34) connected to the gas compression system. A calibrated oil return orifice (38) is provided in the lower part of the tube.
