There is a unit (7) to store a pre-established map of the optimum regeneration torque as a function of the rotation state, in order to regulate, during a regeneration phase, the torque delivered by the engine, to a predetermined regeneration value, and the torque delivered by the electric machine such that the total torque generated by the engine and the electric machine corresponds to the required torque. The IC engine has a reversible electric machine (2) functioning as a motor or alternator, connected to electric energy storing unit (3). There is a unit for controlling the functioning of the IC engine (1) and the electric machine in order to provide the required torque to the vehicle wheels, and connected to the monitoring unit (5) for monitoring the exhaust particle filter for triggering a regeneration phase, with a unit (6) to measure the rotation state of the engine.
