PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem such that in a conventional active matrix substrate, a pinhole is easily generated in an insulation film at a connection part and a crossing part of wirings and a yield is reduced due to the generation of a line defect and the like. SOLUTION: In an active matrix substrate having a switching element, a signal line, a scanning line and a pixel electrode, the switching element is buried in the inner part of an insulation substrate and the surface of the substrate is flattened to form a liquid crystal display device.
