PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval system for law, etc., which makes it possible to retrieve a desired provision and a trial example without knowing a retrieval keyword regarding the law, easily and speedily perform retrieval using a combination of verbs and objects, and obtain a desired conclusion by performing proper alternatives successively. SOLUTION: A data storage means 2 has a constitution and law database 8 and a trial example database 9 and also has at lest one of a meta keyword database 13, a verb and object database 14, and an auxiliary flow database 15. A retrieval server 3 for law, etc., has at least one of a meta keyword retrieval processing means 21 which reads out and retrieves a retrieval keyword corresponding to a non-retrieval keyword from the meta keyword database 13, a verb and object retrieval processing means 22 which performs retrieval by obtaining a retrieval keyword based upon a combination of verbs and objects from the verb and object database 13, and an auxiliary flow retrieval processing means 23 which sends requests for additional information in order according to a flow of an auxiliary flowchart matching with a retrieval pattern corresponding to the respective data bases 13, 14, 15.
