PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech management method and a server that can enhance the efficiency of speech management processing. SOLUTION: A control section 31 of a speech management server 3 acquires speech data for a prescribed period in the past from a speech database of a storage section 33, acquires number of speeches as to the acquired speech data by each telephone number of caller, groups the speech data on the basis of an accumulated number of the speeches and number of stored items, and generates index data that denotes a stored area (page) of speech data where a telephone number belonging to a group is used for a caller telephone number by each group. When the control section 31 acquires speech data for a new period, the control section 31 uses a caller telephone number included in the speech data as a key to refer to the index data and stores the result to a prescribed area of the speech database of the storage section 33.
